3 - Pouchulu
Patricio Pedro Pouchulu (1965), is an architect and educator, involved in Habitat research for 40 years. Widely known after his evocative grand designs and competitions, he built in conservation areas in London and has designed more than 200 projects, like his Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, Egypt, and Cyclotel Network in Northern Europe. He is lecturing through Instituto Pouchulu of Earth's Habitat Change about organic architecture. His goal is to plant a Humanistic seed for future generations. Like his late putative 'elder brother' Vangelis (as stated by a common friend), Pouchulu seeks beauty, not chaos.
Expert in Habitat, Pouchulu continues the teachings of his Lieber Meister Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) -now even more detached in space and time- who became his vivid spiritual father; like Odysseus, who did not manage to see his son Telemachus at birth and trusted Mentōr to guide him, Pouchulu owns his mentors Clorindo Testa his wit sense of space, and Sir Peter Cook for his rebel, endless questioning. Identical to Telemachus, he wandered for years and eventually returned Home (Ithaca is Aquilea), rebuilding in the South what's left of the Mediterranean World (Athens-Rome-Alexandria-Venice-Genova-Milano), after the fall of Humanism and its abduction by consumerist cybernetics... another Greek word raped: kubernētēs means 'steersman'.
Pouchulu taught organic architecture and urbanism at Fakultät für Architektur, Hochschule, in beautiful München, Germany, after graduating at the Bartlett School, University College London, and FADU UBA. Awarded by Fondo Nacional de las Artes, he was recognized by the British Council, and wrote articles in the Press Gallery, UK Parliament, promoting Arg-UK partnership. He exhibited his work in solo and collective shows in America (Argentina, Mexico), Europe (UK, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy), Africa (Egypt, South Africa), Middle-East (Dubai, UAE), and Asia (South Korea, Japan). His body of work comprises about 10.000 drawings, plus photographs, slides, films and writings.
Pouchulu is a book lover, painter, photographer, and filmmaker following the legacy of his father, news reel pioneer Pedro Pouchulu. He is a Skipper, narrowboating enthusiast in England, and Honorary member of Instituto Aeronaval (Armada Argentina, Air Wing).
